Agatha Christie’s, “The Lost Mine”, opens with a friendly disagreement between Poirot and his friend Captain Hastings on the subject of investments. The story proceeds to uncover that the main character is a gambler and debtor who has arranged for an impersonator to receive some money. We believe he was wearing a Morganite ring, named after J.P. Morgan, one of the greatest financiers in history.
